Shapur I, King of Persia

Shapur the first, son on Ardeshir Babakan (founder of Sassanian dynasty), is a great national hero who led Iranian warriors defending against Roman armies. He is the only warlord who captured a Roman emperor (Valerian) as a prisoner of war (253 C.E).
